Competition Rules

Contestant Criteria

  1. There would be two groups for both boys and girls, Age 6-12 and 13-19 years old.
  2. Q Factor’s policy is not to reveal the score to any individual.
  3. At the end of each session, if time allows, judges will be requested to comment on the performance.

 Telephone Round:
Each contestant will have a maximum of 90 seconds to recite of their choice, they will have a chance to attempt only one time.

Marking criteria for judges:

  • Makharij- 50 Marks
  • Gunnah- 20 Marks
  • Mudud (Madde Asli) – 20 Marks
  • Fluency (Not hesitant or confused) – 10 Marks
  • Total Marks 100

Quarter Final:
Each contestant will have a maximum of 3 minutes to recite of their choice.

Marking criteria for Quarter final:

  • Makharij- 50 Marks
  • Gunnah- 20 Marks
  • Mudud (Madde Asli)- 20 Marks
  • Fluency ( Not hesitant or confused) 10 Marks

In addition

  • Tajweed Rules- 32 Marks (4 questions will be asked from the part of recitation)
  • Beautifying recitation- 18 Marks
  • Total Marks 150

Semi Final:
Each contestant will have a maximum of 5 minutes to recite of their choice.

Marking criteria for Semi-final:

  • Makharij- 50 Marks
  • Gunnah- 20 Marks
  • Mudud (Madde Asli)- 20 Marks
  • Fluency (Not hesitant or confused)- 10 Marks
  • Tajweed Rules- 32 Marks (4 questions will be asked from the part of recitation)
  • Beautifying recitation-18 Marks

In addition

    • Speech:maximum of 4 minutes on a subject of contestant’s choice with the following criteria’s
    • Introduction- 6 Marks
    • Depth of topic- 15 Marks
    • Reference from Quran & Sunnah- 8 Marks
    • Relevance of Reference- 5 Marks
    • Confidence ( Fluent, not hesitant or confused) – 10 Marks
    • Conclusion- 6 Marks
    • Must be delivered in English.
    • Must include at least 2 verses from the Qur’an and 2 hadiths (with their English meaning)
    • Total Marks 200
    • Complete speech must be done off by heart. (by default 10 marks will be deducted if read from a script).

A written copy of the content must be submitted to Q-Factor Management within the time frame set from the confirmation email.

Grand Final:
Each contestant will have a maximum of 7 minutes to recite of their choice.

Recitation

  • Makharij- 50 Marks
  • Gunnah- 20 Marks
  • Mudud (Madde Asli)- 20 Marks
  • Fluency (Not hesitant or confused)- 10 Marks
  • Tajweed Rules- 32 Marks (4 questions will be asked from the part of recitation)
  • Beautifying recitation-18 Marks

In addition

    • Introduction- 6 Marks
    • Depth of topic- 15 Marks
    • Reference from Quran & Sunnah- 8 Marks
    • Relevance of Reference- 5 Marks
    • Confidence ( Fluent, not hesitant or confused or forgotten) – 10 Marks
    • Conclusion- 6 Marks
    • Must be delivered in English.
    • Must include at least 2 verses from the Qur’an and 2 hadiths (with their English meaning)
    • Total Marks 200
    • Complete speech must be done off by heart. (by default 10 marks will be deducted if read from a script).
